The Civil War: Up Close and Personal

I am the chief Civil War historian at our house, see, e.g., here. But it should be noted that both Layla and Madysen have portrayed Abraham Lincoln on Biography Days.

Anyway, last Sunday, Holly’s cousin was in a Civil War battle re-enactment a couple of hours away, in Mexia, Texas. I was too busy with work to attend, but Holly and the kids did go. And they had a great time. Layla came home with a rubberband six shooter, Speed with a Stonewall Jackson pocket knife.
